Midweek Music with The Gossip "Standing in the Way of Control"

This week's Midweek Music is The Gossip "Standing in the Way of Control". The Gossip is an American band that is more popular overseas than here. I have no idea why. This live performance gave me chills. Everyone is dancing and singing like they need to in order to live. Beth Ditto is the classic front woman. She is sexy, funny, full of energy, and is oh so stylish. She mixes thrift clothing with designer to make her own look. I love her dramatic liquid eyeliner with red lips. This manicure is to try to capture that colorful, fun loving, and rocking spirit.

Great News!

I have some really great news! After a little more of a year of graduating with my B.S. in Biology and unemployment I have a job and I'm back in school. I will be working at a local beauty supply store which carries Zoya and OPI. They are my top two brands so I'm excited to have direct access to them.

I don't need to remind anyone how hard the job market is here. I have applied to countless places and my college degree is worthless without any experience. My experience is that I was a student worker and years of working as a veterinary assistant. My educational goal is to get my Masters in Cosmetic Chemistry so I'm back at school to get training on how to be a laboratory assistant.
Last summer was one of the worst in my life which is why I started this blog. I want a happy anniversary to replace the bad one. I'm not where I want to be in life but I'm not giving up. I still have dreams and I'm working towards them.

Another accent nail manicure with glitter. This is Zoya Gemma which was a lemming the moment I saw a promo photo. Military green is one of those colors that looks great on me. I have a jacket this color that I have owned still I was in middle school. The glitter is China Glaze CG in the City which I layered over Gemma. This a multicolor glitter with purple, silver, and black. I would of worn this like crazy as a goth teen. I want to get another bottle for frankens.

Thanks for reading.

Back to Blogging

Events in my personal life have finally settled down for me to return to this blog. I have missed it and going to try my best to make up for lost time. I have a bunch of photos to post of previous manicures which is going to keep me busy. This manicure of purple and green is one of my favorite color combinations.

This is Color Club Pucci-licious and What A Shock!. Pucci-licious is a neon blue purple. The neon isn't that strong and looks more like a bright cream. However, my pictures make it look blue. The one picture that makes it true to life gave me red hands.

See what I mean? It is very pretty and the formula is great. I can see how this a very popular purple.

What A Shock! is a neon shimmer green. It's a bit sheer and I believe this is three thin coats on my nail. I'm going to try layering it with white to give it better coverage. I like the combination of creme and shimmer for accent manicures. I think it makes the accent nail stand out even more.
